Chromium Acetate:

Chromium (III) acetate is produced by dissolving newly precipitated chromium (III) oxide in acetic acid. It is often used as a dye mordant for colouring wool, cotton, rayon and silk, as well as to fix Vigoreaux dyes. Chromium acetate, also referred to as chromic acetate, can be used as a catalyst and reducing agent. Due to its ability to harden emulsions, the solution can also be used in the oil and gas industry to help with extraction from fractured rock production wells.
