Anhydrous Lithium Chloride:
Lithium chloride (LiCl) is used as a brazing flux for aluminum as well as to produce lithium metal via electrolysis. It also works as a desiccant to remove moisture from air and can be used as a colorant to produce dark red flames. Anhydrous lithium chloride is produced by heating lithium hydrate with a stream of hydrogen chloride.
