Antimony Metal:
Antimony is a metalloid, or semi-metal, that is used in alloys, batteries, and as a precursor to antimony chemicals such as antimony trioxide (Sb2O3). In its metallic form, antimony is often used as an alloy hardener - often with lead - to increase hardness and mechanical strength. Anti-friction bearings, pewter, lead shot and type metal can also make use of antimony metal.
